Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) was a French artist, poet, playwright and film maker. He was one of the most influencial artists of the 20th century, and participated in the the surrealist, avant-garde, and Dadaist movements. The artworks he made were very diverse, but always marked by originality and poetry, as he considered his visual work to be “graphic poetry”.
